EUROSTAG... 5 licences arrive at NIT Kurukshetra

NIT (National Institute of Technology) Kurukshetra is one of the oldest technical institutes set up by Central Government in 1963.  It is located 160 kms from Delhi and offers engineering courses in civil, mechanical, electrical, computer science etc.

Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Associate Professor teaches Power Systems to undergraduate and postgraduate students. His areas of expertise include Power System Dynamics, FACTS Devices, Distributed Generation & Renewable Energy Systems and Demand Side Management.

In order to allow his PhD scholars to pursue research in voltage stability and wind power, Dr. Ashwani evaluated the demo version of Eurostag and was impressed by its strong features which were not available with already-in-use ETAP, PSCAD and MATLAB. Once convinced, he recommended the purchase of 5 licences. The software has since been delivered and a Webex training by P&G is on the cards.

After success of NIT Kurukshetra, there are several installations all across India which include leading universities working extensively on Power Systems like Anna University Chennai, IIT-Roorkee, VNIT Nagpur, BSA Crescent Chennai, VEC Chennai, Jadavpur University and NIT Durgapur etc.
