Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) chose Eurostag 5.1

Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) is one of the largest universities in Siberia. It was established in 1950 as Novosibirsk Electric Technical Institute (NETI).

Faculty of Power Engineering trains specialists in “Electrical Power Engineering”, “Heat and Power Engineering”, “Automation in Power Engineering”, “Safety in Technosphere”, and “Management in Power Engineering”.
The Faculty of Power Engineering is a head organization in Russia that IS responsible for training The Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the "Power Engineering" area.

The research areas of Power Engineering faculty covers numerous topics such as power system protection and control, fault analysis, power system dynamics, HVDC transmission, FACTS devices, network operation optimization, voltage stability, renewable energy, Smart Grid and others.

NSTU chose EUROSTAG® 5.1 for the education purposes and scientific research. Today a number of students use the program for their Master thesis. The first results of the EUROSTAG® 5.1 utilization have been sent for participation in the 19th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC 2014).

The special educational program "Simulations of power systems dynamics based on Eurostag 5.1" for students and postgraduates will be implemented next year. The program is aimed at extending the Eurostag utilization in NSTU and outside.

NSTU become informed about EUROSTAG® through the FP7 R&D project ICOEUR (Intelligent Coordination of Operation and Emergency Control of EU and Russian Power Grids) and PEGASE (Pan European Grid Advanced Simulation and state Estimation).
