CI-ENERGIES - Software training

CI-ENERGIES is a state company of Côte d’Ivoire, managed by Amidou TRAORE (General Manager), in charge of the planning, implementation of investment projects in the electricity sector and rural electrification.

In the frame of the Master Plan for Generation and Transmission carried out by Tractebel Engineering, the engineers of the planning team of CI-ENERGIES spent two months at Tractebel’s headquarter in Brussels, Belgium to be trained on all software used for the Master Plan. The aim of these intensive theoretical and practical training sessions was to allow the team to autonomously perform the yearly update of the results of the Master Plan.

Beside theory of power system planning, advanced trainings were provided on PRELE (Long term planning optimisation), SCANNER (Power system probabilistic analysis), load forecast and SMART FLOW platform for power system static and dynamic simulations and analysis. Training sessions were dedicated to different modules of the SMART FLOW platform: EUROSTAG®, IPSO (Power system optimizer), SHOCC (Short circuit calculation), SYSCAN (Advanced dynamic security analysis) and HERCULES (Small signal stability). Thanks to their involvement and motivation, the engineers of the planning team of CI-ENERGIES acquired the background knowledge and the practical experience to fully benefit from the many possibilities and computation power of EUROSTAG® and the different modules of the SMART FLOW platform as well as of the dedicated planning software PRELE and SCANNER.
