Macroblocks for building your models

EUROSTAG® offers a vast library of power system models that can be used directly or modified by the user through an advanced modeling tool.

 

Besides the existing models, the user is able to build his own models of turbines, boilers, unit controllers, transmission system equipment (FACTS, HVDC…) and many others through a user-friendly graphical interface.

 

The models, also called macroblocks, are built using a set of elementary blocks that include algebraic, trigonometric, Laplace and measurement functions. Thus, no writing code is necessary when designing or upgrading a model.

Elements such as FACTS and HVDC are easily implemented in a macroblock associated to an injector that imposes the injection the corresponding current in the system. With the aid of coupled variables, the injections at both extremities of an HVDC are linked together by a mathematical function.

 

The macroblocks can be associated to different generating units or injectors and they can be coupled to represent the interactions between various power system components: hydro units on the same water column, combined cycles, HVDC lines, etc...
